Here is a list of Vundo Removal Software

A Little fore warning. Several of the below products are free to use. We take no responsability for anything you do. If you have any qualms about data loss we urge you to have a pro remove this threat.

Spyware Doctor With anti-Virus: This is the only paid software listed on this page. We use it on our work computer and out in the field to remove virsues and spyware off of clients computers. It works great at removing Vundo and prevents future attacks.

Spybot Search And Destory: Perhaps the best free spyware client out on the market. It works great at removing many different kinds of spywarae. In fact it has at times eliminated all the traces of Vundo but most of the time it can not. It is worth a try as it will remove most of the spyware on your computer. Keep in mind spybot does not offer liver protection so it will not stop you from being infected again.

Ad-aware: There is a paid version that offers live protection and a free version that does not. The free version is still fully functional and it really does do a good job of finding spyware. The scans are long but the product works. It does fight with most other spyware aplications so should be installed with care. We would suggest purchasing Spyware Doctor over the paid version of ad-aware.

Vundofix.exe: This free program is made by atribune and worked very well at one piont and time. It seems ever since 2008 this progam does not detect most traces of Vundo but once again it's free and may very well find a few traces.

Smitfaudfix: While this tool was not made directly for Vundo it removes smitfraud which is almost always installed on computers that are infected with Vundo. In fact we have to use it some times to remove Smitfraud. The makers of this software can be found over at http://siri.geekstogo.com/SmitfraudFix.php.

Combofix: This is a powerfull tool but can lead to windows not stating anymore. It works for the most part but be sure to do a data backup first as all your data may be lost if the tool removes some core Windows files.

Vundobegone: Not sure the maker of this tool but we found it on a comcast help page. They may just be the makers of this tool. While it has not been updated in some time this tool has helped us in the past at removing the vundo threat and of course it is free.

FXVMonde.exe: This is Symantecs attempt at a Vundo removal tool. We list it here as they say it works but good luck with that. We never have had this tool pick up traces but you never know for someone out there it may work. It's free so why not list it.

HighJackThis: This bad boy is a very powerfull tool. It shows you what programs are starting up. More the processes that are starting up. for those that are familiar with your startup menu you should be able to see what should not be there and remove items. It is also a great tool to use to remove a file that can not be removed while the computer is running. this is a powerfull tool in the right hands and a sure computer recker for those that do not know what they are doing. Handle with care.

KillProcesess: This tool can be use to kill any process that is running on your computer. It is very helpful when you find a file that is malisious but you can not remove it because it is running. This is the program many of you have been needing but did not know it was out there.

Free Anti-Virus Clients: Please note we do not recommend using a free client as most will not give you active protection.

AVG: This client run's light and will do a daily scan for you by default. Your system will be a little slow while the scan is going on but it's the price you pay for free clients. Also AVG free version does not give you live protection.

Avast: Avast has been gaining in popularity more and more this past year over AVG. While I like the free version and it does actaully offer liver protection it is lacking and I have found it is still rather easy to get infected. I would put this client on level with Mcafee.

Avira: Once again I do not use these free clients but to demo them out. I really liked Avira and if I had to use a free client this one would be it for me. It's a nice interface.
